Law, order and constitution. Should you even bother? What’s your opinion in regards to the stand of a country’s constitution? Were you looking for something worth clicking and reading with the “captivating” title? Or did i just lost you at the first sentence? haha!
People talk, people criticize. Merely, by the mention of the word “politics” or “government”. Admit it, even you are forming some negative and judgmental clouds in your own head as we speak. Hoola, are you with me?! :P Don’t worry, I won’t be talking much about politics, jurisdictions and whatnots. Yes, breathe a sigh of relief.
Listened to a message by Pr. John Piper (my favorite preacher) this morning on the way to work about the Deadly Team of Sin and Law.

Let me share a little of what I agree on and how I view of the aspect of “Law”.
- Law exists not only to keep an organization in order.
- Without law, one will not know that he/she has wronged.
- Law is to show that man is a captive of sin.
- Law highlights those who are right and those who are wrong, sadly. (When clearly every man is guilty of something.)
- Law induce mental judgement.
- Law is not mainly used for provocation.
- Law is not mainly used for disputation.
- Law is not mainly used for rebuking.
- Law is not mainly used for making legal summons appear in court.
- Without law, man is alive.
- With law, man is dead because he knows he is damningly sinful.
- Law is…..well the list goes on and on. (I suggest that you google it out.) :P

As referring to the above statements, does that conclude that Law is a murderer? No. Not in a million years. Sin is the culprit. Sin exploits the pure existence of law to place a VERY HEAVY YOKE OF GUILT on sinners with whispers of lies. Not letting them go. God used law to show that only He can save us from our mess, but Sin prostitutes law and “weaponizes” it to chain people up even through the smallest of wrongdoings. Here’s a little more you should know about Law.
Law is made to show that, yes, we are made sinful, but also to point us to a greater divine purpose which it serves. Law is used to prove to us that we cannot save ourselves cos we’ll always sin. But although we are hopeless, there’s still hope and grace and mercy and salvation and love and ultimately, Christ.
Maybe this will make it clearer for you.
What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? May it never be! On the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, “YOU SHALL NOT COVET.” 8 But sin, taking opportunity through the commandment, produced in me coveting of every kind; for apart from the Law sin is dead. 9 I was once alive apart from the Law; but when the commandment came, sin became alive and I died; 10 and this commandment, which was to result in life, proved to result in death for me; 11 for sin, taking an opportunity through the commandment, deceived me and through it killed me. 12 So then, the Law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good. 13 Therefore did that which is good become a cause of death for me? May it never be! Rather it was sin, in order that it might be shown to be sin by effecting my death through that which is good, so that through the commandment sin would become utterly sinful.
